Dear Friends and Prayer Supporters,
It has been a long time since our last Gibson Gazette so we have a lot of things to share with you. It has been a time of death, births and weddings! Our old computer died just before the millenium bug could do anything!!!  It was quite a few months before we became fully internet/e-mail accesible again. But through this time of death three more computer were born - one that was given for the Kids , a laptop (on indefinite loan) for our travels and a brand new up-to-date multimedia system that our cousin helped get at a fantastic price! ...'unless a computer fall to the ground and die...'

The wedding was of Yvonne (Shen's niece) and Marianda which was on 11th March and Tim gave the message, Melody was a flower girl and Gideon was the page boy and Shen was the frantic mother - the picture to the right is of us just before going to the big event.

Tim Talks...
"And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnath - Paaneah*"
Gen 41:45
* Revealer of dreams/secrets.

I was recently teaching my missions mobilizing seminar called 'The Big Picture' in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia to a small group of young adults. This is part of God's vision for me to raise up Bright Arrows, polish them and see them sent forth into the nations. During the teaching I was preparing to talk on the life of Joseph and the Lord spoke clearly to me that my ministry is like Joseph's in the sense that for my own dream to be realized I will be used in interpreting the dreams of others.
Indeed, at the end of teaching the Big Picture (helping people to see what part they have in God's big mission) the Lord used me to speak many words of knowledge over individuals about their life calling which they said was spot on! I don't boast in this but rejoice in that the years of waiting seem finally to be fruitful.

I still continue to assist in pastoring the small church extension in Yishun, north Singapore. It can get quite hectic as we lack manpower and I help out in many areas. Preaching, teaching, counselling, worship leading, playing guitar in the worship team, Cell group leading, visitation...you name it! It truly has been a learning experience. My prayer now is to see a more outwards expression (i've been ministering mostly 'inwards' rather than leading others 'outwards' in missions. This has been the Lord's leading I believe in order to broaden my 'pastor's heart'. I'm now getting more involved in our Church's Batam (Indonesia) Project and hope to take teams to minister in this mission field from the Yishun Church.

Recently I have been travelling quite a bit between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to minister in Pastor Albert's Church and other related Churches (as I'm ordained under the covering of Life Centre Ministries of which Albert is Asian leader). I believe that armies will rise up from these churches to launch out into the nations and I will have asmall part in equipping them.

My Horizons involvement is uncertain at the moment as nothing 'solid' seems to be coming together - I feel that there is some ongoing involvement in terms of 'Bright Arrows Nurture Groups' (BANG) but value your prayer for greater clarity. I've been putting together online internet teaching packages for this purpose.

Mission UK!
Finally, after five years of waiting, the way seems clear for us to go to my homeland - England! Last year we tried to go but the Lord led us to take a kid's camp. I've never felt 'homesick' for UK before but only recently I felt a strong desire to be there and recapture some of the beauty!

We believe it is the right time as God seems to be confirming it by 'going ahead' and arranging things. Tim's home church in Northampton just went through a painful split and we are praying that the Lord will use us in some way to comfort and minister to those involved. Do pray for us in this respect.

Shendy's eldest sister, Pat, hand niece, Charis, will be coming along with our family and we sensed that this is a 'mission trip' alongside a badly needed holiday time. We are praying for 'divine appointments' .

Praise God the Lord has been encouraging us also in that Tim's Dad has offered the use of his car to travel around UK (which will save much money) and our church in Singapore has been a blessing to us. We believe the Lord will cover the whole trip for us!

We have also been amazed at how the Lord has 'gone ahead' of us and seems to be 'gathering' the people to the right places at the right time to meet them in the UK. If you're our UK friend and we've not arranged anything yet with you do get in touch with us :-)

Shen Says.......
The diary of a Kindergarten teacher

My kindergarten kids

Cerebral Palsy boy
As you can see from the picture, I am now teaching Nursery which comprises 22 children & another K1 which comprises 33 children.  Just beginning of this year, I was shocked to see that a cerebral palsy boy is in my class.  The mother gave me a doctor's comment that we have to be very careful towards him as he is fragile.  I hesitated to accept him but knowing that his family have financial difficulty to bring him to a special school, I decided to try for a month as I had an assistant during that time.  I was thinking that I would have an excuse of not looking after him but found myself enjoying him and growing to love him. The Lord melted my heart and I found that he would always miss me and be asking after me. This is a small way of testifying of the love of Jesus ('if you do this to these, the least of My breathren, you do it unto Me').

Though the work is hard and the pay almost negligible there is a satisfaction in being where God wants me to be for now.

Melody Mutters....

I'm five, i'm alive ! This year I have entered a new phase of my life - I now am a school girl. I attend our local government kindergarten and have spelling tests evey week and homework every day (that's Singapore for you).

I have been a good 'jie jie' (big sister) to 'Ti Ti' (little brother) and have been helping out Mummy and Daddy more. If Gideon cries I will rush over to comfort him. We do have sibling quarrels but we love each other very much.

Mummy and Daddy have been amazed at my prayers - one day we went to visit an aunty who was having a bad arm - I prayed and the day after she phoned to say the Lord had healed her! I even prayed for a taxi  to come when we couldn't get one home and it came straight away! God is a prayer answering God.

I'm looking forward to my second trip to England - I was too small to remember my first one.

Gideon Gurgles...

Being three years old is soooo much fun! I'm big enough now to follow my sister to art classes on Fridays. Below you'll see a collage of our artwork from those times.

I also am big enough to be pageboy - I was at Yvonne and Marianda's wedding. I was a bit scared at first and let out a frightened yell but soon composed myself to walk down the aisle leading the pack!

Next year I start K1 so i'm enjoying my play time now and have been described by my Daddy's friend TC as a 'compact little fella who always seems to land on his feet'.

Ministry Prayer Pointers....
1. Continue to pray for the Lord to add the increase in Church of Singapore (Yishun) in the main service and our Friday night Cell.
2. Pray for our ministry as a couple to many broken families the Lord seems to have brought to our attention.
3. Pray for Tim's ongoing ministry in and out of Singapore -for wisdom to know which doors to go through.
4. Pray for Tim's staring up of the BANG groups - for His timing, His people and His way.
5. Pray for Shen's ministry to the Kindergarten kids and parents - remember the Cerebral Palsy boy and his family in prayer.

Family Prayer Pointers....
1.Pray for our trip to the UK. Pray for the salvation of Tim's family members and for divine appointments to share the Gospel. Pray for Tim's home church as it's undergone a split. Pray for safety in the travels and for His provision all the way through.
2. Pray for Melody's schooling - especially her Chinese as she was thrown in at the deep end in her K2 Mandarin lessons. Pray for us to have time in our busy schedules to teach Gideon too to prepare him for Singapore's high level of schooling.
3. Pray for us as a family to have unhindered , regular times of family prayer and devotion - this has been a struggle but we're pressing on through in this area.
