Circumstances should only confirm what the Lord is already saying to you (unless the circumstances force you into a certain pathway not previously considered). Don't let circumstances dictate what you should do (eg. Abraham and the famine - Abraham was not told by God to go to Egypt but he went as the circumstances seemed such that this seemed like the right thing to do. This led Abraham to have considerable difficulty between his wife and the king: he walked by sight and not by faith.)
