[AN tih type]-- a fulfillment or completion of an earlier truth revealed in the Bible. Baptism in the New Testament, for example, as an expression of one's salvation, fulfills the function served by Noah's ark in the Old Testament. Thus, Noah's ark was a type, and baptism was an antitype <1 Pet. 3:21>.
