BE SOBER...

1Thes 5:6-8

Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. (NKJ)

Titus 2:12

teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, (NKJ)

Pet 1:13

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (NKJ)

Pet 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (NKJ)

BE WATCHFUL IN PRAYER....

Matt 24:42

"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. (NKJ)

"Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. (NKJ)

Matt 26:38-41

Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me."

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."

Then He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour?

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." (NKJ)

Mark 13:33-37

"Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

"It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.

"Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming-- in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning--

"lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.

"And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!" (NKJ)
